Newb with ?"s

First thing I have to say is finding a decent 240 in Wisconsin is a *****. I talked to my banker and he said I could get another loan without selling my alty right away. I'm not sure if I want if I want an s13 or s14. As far as looks go I pretty much like them equally. I have a few questions that might sway my decision.

1. Are all s13's 4 lug and are all s14's 5 lug. To me having 5 lug isn't that important other than the fact that I just got 18's on my Alty and they are 4 lug. I'm not selling them with my car and would maybe like to put them on my 240 when I get one.

2. And when I buy a 240 will these rims look good on either an s13 or s14? I can picture them better on an s14 but if they are only 5 lug it doesn't matter anyway. If anyone has chrome rims on there 240 please post pics.

3. I'm not sure if I should by one with a lot miles for cheaper and do a swap or find a nicer one. Pay a little more and just put a turbo on it. What I was really wondering is what are the advanteges of swapping rather than putting a turbo on there KA?

Any info will help. I'm trying to learn as much about 240's before I buy one. Hopefully this info will help me make my decision on which one to buy. Thanks

check the FAQ, it'll help you a bunch.

and to sum up your q's,

yes all s13's are 4 lug, and all s14's are 5 lug. you can make the s13 into a 5 lug. you'll find info on that in the FAQ or do a search.

do a search as well. this is a huge forum with tons of information. one of the best I've found. check it out, you'll learn a lot.

and those rims would look better on the s14, I think. I've seen a few s13's with chrome, and I didnt like it.

^^Whoa, mis information.

ALL S13s(USDM))are 4 lug. S14s that are NOT SE or LE are 4-lug, S14 SE's and LE's are 5 lug.

I personally dont like chrome rims at all, whats the offset on them?

Search around in the turbo and engine swap forums.

concerning what buy, if u don't wanna take out another loan, u'd have a better time getting a decent S13 for cash. also, i don't think it would be a good idea to do a swap on a car ur still paying for (just in case). now if u want something a little newer and nicer, and the possibility of a swap is a good ways off, go on ahead and pick up an S14. hope that helps.

so Jynx, can you tell my why on my VIN it says "RHS13" or "RMS13" ?

its one of the two, I cant remember

yes^ and make sure you do check the offset on them i made that mistake getting 17x7.5 velox vx-8 rims and for the front they are too wide so i had to get wheel spacers.

My rims are 18X7.5 with a 40 offset. my tires are 215/40. And I definitly agree that chrome might not look the best on a 240 but thats what I'm gonna go with. I plan on getting some nice light weight racing rims down the road. Thanks for the info.
