The current GTR in Japan, if I remember correctly, is running a V6 very similar to the one from the Z32TT. It's a 3 liter VQ30DETT.
What GTR in Japan?

I think they're still selling R34 GTR's in small numbers.

No they stopped production in August of 2002, with the limited edition Nur Spec.

I don't follow too closely cars I can't get / afford but I do take notice when the Skyline comes up. I wish I still had the information handy, but I did definitely see VG30DETT equipped R34's... unfortunately not in person.

Haha. Now would that be 17.5 per bank, or would the 35th be left in the middle?

Did you mean G35? If so, the next GTR will look an aweful lot like the G35 coupe on which it will be based.

We may see wider fenders or more aggressive front bumper, but from the outside the cars will look very similar. I'm hoping that they will not look much alike under the hood.

The G35 is as close as the skyline as we are going to get. It's not as great as the Inline 6 that the skyline provides and probley never will be, but it is one hell of an engine that still has a ways to go... they just recently made a twin turbo setup for the G35 and the 350z which is a pair of Greddy TD05186's, so let's see what the specs are on that then lets start talkin about the engines abilities.

heres what i dont understand

what is so great about the skyline? is it suspossed to be a fast car or something? i dont know anything about them, but the ones i've seen on video were all being stomped in the ground by the cars they were racing

and legal skylines in the us aren't a big deal....i posted a thread about it a long time ago and mostly you people were all like "old news"....and i got those "welcome to last week" pictures

and your a moderator here?!? the nissan skyline is an incredible machine. a 280 horsepower inline 6 that is twin turbocharged with 4wd and race bred suspension = japanese supercar. i mean guys know there are a very limited number of skylines in the us so posting pictures of stock ones isnt too big of a deal.

I'm shocked and amazed that Nissan didn't check with you first. If you catch one, you can voice your disapproval to the wildly grinning owner. I'm sure his smile will instantly turn to a frown and his performance numbers will immediately dip below those of a Focus wagon.

...hey g35 fanboy, quite down for a second and tell me how the g35 (or skyline if you MUST call it that) resembles the skyline in any way. WHY everyone is pissed about not getting a REAL skyline is because the g35 is a very sorry excuse for one. all we got was a blandly styled luxury car which happends to have 280 smooth naturally aspirated horses that was designed for comfort. the facts are that the r34 skyline does not relate to the g35 in any way besides badging. WHAT A REAL SKYLINE IS if you didnt know, is a TWIN TURBO inline 6 with all wheel drive. once i see that i will be happy. im not ragging on the g35 as a car, im ragging on the g35 as a skyline which it clearly isnt.
