Overheating, shutting off.

Recently my lower radiator hose was leaking, so I replaced it. On the day I replaced the hose, I was driving around, and noticed that my car was still overheating. I stopped at a store for about 30 mins to let my car cool back down to drive home. On the way home the engine cut off on me, and I had to have the car towed home. I replaced the Water Pump, so I know it's not that causing the problem. Any ideas what could be causing the overheating or shutting off? BTW I have a 1995 240sx SE.

Thermostat, other piping, is your overflow tank filled up? Is your radiator filled up correctly?

Thanks HyJynX, it was the thermostat. Already got a new one in. Not overheating anymore. Thanks again!

OK, now the damn thing likes to over heat when i come to stops. As long as the car is going like at least 25 it stays cool. When I slow down it'll heat up really fast and send the gauge out of the normal range. But once I start moving again the guage goes back down. The i have replaced in the past month: the radiator, water pump, upper and lower hoses, thermostat. The system has PLENTY of coolant in it. Can anyone tell me what's up?? Do i still have a damn air bubble in the system??

and make sure not to get an OEM thermo, get a performace one that will lock 'open' instead of 'closed' so you engine doesn't burn up on you.
