please help guys

hi, im currently looking to buy a 1991 240. it has 177,000 miles on it. the guy just wants to get rid of it a.s.a.p. the only thing wrong with it is the slave cylinder i believe. the clutch doesnt want to let it out of gear and only travels about half way..... sorry for such a bad description. i am mechanically inclined so i'd be able to do it myself. well hes only asking 1000 but i can talk him down with a tow. what i want to know is what u guys think about this deal. all else is good, interior, exterior, paint, undercarriage.... all good. what is the output of the stock DOHC and how responsive are they to bolt ons???? i have owned many quick cars, the latest being a fully built 1989 probe gt pushing 225 hp, 300tq at the wheels before it became a solid piece of metal (siezed thanks to dumb gf driving with no oil...hahaha i know its funny) any and all help is greatly appreciated.

It could have to do with the throw out bearing, but either way you got work to do.

man, if the body panels are solid, the undercarrige is OK for an 11 year old car, i'd talk him down (since he wants to get rid of it anyway) and invest a little blood money. jump on it but not for a grand with those miles
