possible 240 project?

so i found a 240sx in my area for 800 bux. its a steal right?
supposedly everything is running. but the ad says theres possible rod knock.
its a 1991 240. not sure what engine, but im sure its a KA.

if it is rod knock, then what would it take to fix it?

dont know too much about engines.. any help is appreciated =D

heres a link to it.

*edit*
it is a ka24de.
and the guy said taht the noise started after he changed the timing belt. so could it be something else thats causing the noise?

as long as there is no rust it's a steal, and it's probably just the timing chain guide

+1 check it out and if its clean pick it up. If you have a friend that is mechanically inclined take them along with you to look it over as well. Good luck.

engine choice is all personal preference, you will have a hard time finding support for the CA engine though, KA's a popular and you can find parts a lot easier (especially since it's the factory engine)

alrite. thats wat i was thinking. plus then i wont have to dish out more money for one. how mcuh do KA's usually go for. cuz the guy has an extra running engine he'd be willing to include.
