Questions about building a 240

Hey guys, Im new to 240sx's and am wondering about building one up. I come from honda's, Ive got a s2000 and instead of supercharging it, Im thinking about gettin a 240 and building it up.Im looking into making it a highway monster, a 12 time in the 1/4 would be great too! Im looking into the early 90's hatchbacks. Heres a couple of questions I have:

Ive heard its a good idea to get the 90 1/2 year ones and up because its a lot less work to swap a sr20det into them? is this true? why?

Will a built KA motor make more power then a built sr20det motor?

Can I aquire a stock 240 with high miles (140k +) for less then $1000? Ive seen alot of them lately go for under 1g.

Whats the best year 240 to make into a race car(stripped interior,no emissions, rollcage) which year is the lightest?

If theres any other good info i can use please post it here.

Thanks in advance guys, I really look forward to owning a 240!

Please search next time, as alot of what you have asked has been answered before.

1. They say the '91 and up is better due to it having the DOHC engine, several more parts are needed when swapping into an '89-90 chasis.

2. With enough money anything is possible. KA has more displacement than the SR20, KA is a 2.4ltr while the SR is 2.0ltr. Out of the box the SR will woop on the KA, but I've seen some crazy KA's

3. You can aquire a 240 for under $1000, its getting harder to do nowadays due so many people wanting to be jdm dorifto master, the demand right now is kind of high. If your patient and look hard enough you may find one, you could also just buy a shell.

4. I believe s13 coupes are the lightest off the bat. Fastbacks are close but the rear hatch window is heavy.

Again take the time to do some research and search around the forums, the answeres are there and if they are not, then ask away
