S14 SR20DET Red/Black Top

What is the difference between the Red and Black Top motors for the S14 SR20DET?

There is no such thing as a redtop S14 engine. They're all black. Only S13's were red or black.

Wasn't that referred to as the Bluebird? By the way, what's the difference between the Black Top and the Bluebird?

No, the bluetop came in the Nismo 270R. The Bluebird is the JDM equivelent to older altimas (pre-2002).

Is it at all possible to find a Blue Top engine? What are the advantages of having such an engine?

Well the Nismo 270R is extremely rare. Only a few hundred were made. But if you could find an engine I bet it'd be very expensive.

Anyway it's different from the regular S14 engine because it was tuned by Nismo to make 270 hp. I don't know the mods they made except it had a front mount intercooler.

It sounds nice, but it kind of defeats the whole purpose of performing the engine swap for future potential. I would prefer to add my own mods of choice. That's not to say it is not a worthwhile engine, because I'm sure it is. I just don't see the point in paying a lot more for something that takes a lot of thinking out of the process for you. By the way, I know that Tomei makes a fully built S14 race motor, but it costs well over $10,000.
