I found a website claiming that the speed limiter can be disabled without disabling the speedo. It claims that there is a wire (yellow and green in color) that leads off the computer that works the limiter. Supposedly cutting this wire terminates the limiter. I would like to try this but im not sure where the computer is (my other car I have built up is a 69 Camaro so I'm not exactly up to speed on cars with computers). The website is

rosc, search for "service manual" or something. i think there's a link of a zip file containing the service manual, i THINK that would tell you the location of the computer....

Also there was at least 3 in depth threads on this site since I have been here. I have no problems helping people but you said your self that you didn't feeling like shifting through the threads.
