wow maybe im wrong, all the black tops ive seen or discussions on other forums showed the black top with a slight angle on the end of the valve cover. thats how you could usually tell the difference but i know thats what comes in the s15. i wouldnt quote me cuz that deffently was a normal sr20det .

You're talking about S14's and S15's. He wanted to know about the blacktop SR. Whenever someone says blacktop they mean the '94-'98 180sx engine. S14's and S15's aren't refered to as blacktops cause they only came in black or the rare Nismo S14 Bluetop. Where as S13's were red and black. You also got your hp figures wrong. S15's have 248 hp, S14's have 220 hp, and S13's have 205 hp at the CRANK. Also VTC on S14's and S15's DO ADD HP in the midrange powerband, it doesn't affect peak hp.

To answer audiophile, yes any S13, S14, or S15 SR or CA will bolt into any S13, S14, S15 chassis.
