stinky engine bay

so i just painted the valve cover. sweet deal. semi glossy black with red letters (ka24de). seriously. it looks slammin. i put on the valve cover gasket, genuine car quest style, bolt it up. 2 of the bolts dont co operate with me for some reason. they dont look stripped, they catch a little, and i didnt tighten them that much. plus the engine had been off all day so it wasnt hot. all was well. a day later, at midnight. im ****in around in the rain. high revin. just enjoying my 240. everyone does it. i come to a light, it turns green and i bounce off of rev limiter for about 2 maybe 2 and a half seconds. next thing i know. about 2 minutes later, my engine smells like a s s. not really smoking, although it was raining out. and it was def coming from the engine bay so it wasnt the normal brakes or clutch smell. it def wasnt oil, or coolant. it kinda smells like burnt plastic or rubber. but ive never smelled it before. any suggestions would be great. btw, the car continued to drive fine all the way home, normal temp, normal idle and everything else.

Im painting my valve cover soon. Grabber Green beotches. Like the others said though, if it isnt high temp paint, you will smell it when it is burning off.

LOL you didnt use high temp paint? That stuff is gonna take a few weeks to come off and smell like donkey ****.

A few more suprises eh? Hopefully they dont include taping off the intake filter to make sure NO DIRT gets in for better performance...
