Why do people hate HICAS? Is it because they all want to be the next Dori Dori?

It also says on the plate on the firewall in the engine bay KRMS13 as the chassis code. And I'm with Raine. I've actually thought of installing HICAS on my car. I don't see the problem with the rear helping out the front in turning. Sure, it might get some getting used to, but for grip driving, I see it as beneficial.

I don't know if this is the same situation... I just don't like how some people hear something is "bad" for a certain type of driving, and thus they take it in as "bad for everything" i.e. HICAS, ABS, even automatic transmissions...

i dont like those things, (abs,hicas,aoto trany, ect.) i couldnt straight up tell you why, maybe its just because i like simple and bare? i dont like abs because in some situations it helps to lock up your wheels and if your used to not having abs (like me) you can control none abs cars brakes just like abs. i think if i had a 1,000+ hp drag car i would probabley have an auto trany but for daily driving i just simply enjoy driving a 5-speed it just all goes back to me filling and knowing i have more control, if anything ive said so far makes since? but as far as hicas i wouldnt mind having one for a daily driver but not for a track car because over and even some times under steer isnt a bad thing, once again it all comes back to me being in control (and its cheaper to work on:-)
so i hope its makes since and every one is intiled to thier own opinion and im not saying anything bad about any of the (control/comfort) helpers. this is just solely my opinion on why i dont like this things. hope it makes since?

think you misunderstood what I was saying.

However your post did make sense, all except for the "since" part (it's 'sense', not 'since')

if you want a machine that will never break, you want to go with the most reliable parts and the least amount of extraneous devices.

you dont see spinners on race cars, leather, nav, kickin dual 12s in the back... why? its dead weight and its another thing that can go wrong. from what ive read about HICAS, it doesnt tend to break down (probably due to the lack of motion contributing to a greater overall durability) but it is another thing on the list that COULD go wrong.

yet that doesnt make it bad. rally cars have on board systems that are extremely useful. of course, they could fail too, but they are deemed necessary.

what it comes down to is what you need for your intended path.

drift = no HICAS

grip = HICAS (IMO)

everyday = up to you

ok first off i have nothing against hicas...i am just trying to learn more about these cars how to tell certain things and what not.. besides im looking for a car to drift with and it is not a good idea (not saying its not possible ) to drift with hicas..which would be one more thing id have to add to the list of things to do before i could go start practicing or whatever..also most people want a 5spd tranny cuz 1)most autos are built weaker or just tend to break down more 2) better gas milage 3)the thought of being more incontrol of the car 4)bypassing the problem of havting to swap out the auto for manual.
so i dont see y u jumped the gun raine

Not really at all. There is no way you could pump your brakes that fast.

I'd like to drive a car with hicas, I wouldn't mind taking an offramp at 50mph+

I say, master grip before you drift. Know your lines.

From what I know and can tell, most fo the members here daily drive thier 240s. We can't assume what you're gonna use the car for excet for daily driving and some spirited driving unless it is otherwise noted. A lot of guys here have streetable 240s, Raine and I included.
With regards to HICAS, it's been noted by drifters on these forums that it interferes with drifting. With the rear wheels trying to add more grip instead of loosen grip, your drift might not be as good. But for grip, I give HICAS

i wonder, how does HICAS work exactly... i mean, is it electromagnetic or hydraulic or sumthin else? theres got to be a way to reverse the effect it has so it helps the drift instead of hindering it. reverse the hydraulic flow, or the EM polarity...
