Angry Suspension Problems

Over the last 3 months I have seen a gradual decrease in handling and stability of my 96 240. Now its just not good. One problem seems to be rear roll. I know a sway bar would help, but it was better before so that must mean something wore out. Could it be shocks, springs, or bushings? What should I try first? I have aftermarket springs, the car is lowered a little bit. Thanks.

Hey man, sorry that you had to see all that crap. Some idiot is well, being an idiot. I'm working on getting him out of here. So please don't be scared off. THere are some decent, knowledgeble people on this board who love to help you out. It's just been slow lately and now this.

What kind of aftermarket suspension set up do you have? That might be a problem if it isn't set up right.

If you installed lowering springs on your stock struts and shocks, you likely wore out the dampers. The factory units do not hold up well to changing to stiffer / lower springs.

The solution is to upgrade your dampers. One of the most popular setups is the KYB AGX.

www.p-s-t.com has the set for $389 shipped.
www.coximport.com has the set for $370 plus shipping.
www.enjukuracing.com has them for $379 plus shipping.

If any vendors want to come up with a better price, i'm interested and listening.

Dampers are shocks or struts. Sorry, I use that word as a defense mechanism. Every time I say struts someone corrects me that there are shocks in the rear.... and if I say replace the shocks, someone will point out that there are struts in the front.

So when I day 'dampers' about the 240, I mean 'rear shocks and front struts.'
