timming issue? i hope
timming issue? i hope
engine is low on power, lags at 5k + rpms, a bearly noticeable hesitasion all through the rpms.
i just did some major work on it, i pulled the head off to repair a busted valve so its timming right?

mine has done the same thing. i properly bled the coolant which cut down on the hesitations a bit and fixed a couple grounds. she runs pretty good now, but as i said, still hesitates a lil bit. just search for a pic of how the crank pulley is supposed to be lined up when the motor is in tdc and make sure u got everything lined up properly. u have more ***** than i do to pull the head off. good luck with it brother.
well today i barrowed a timing light the spark timing was advanced 5 degrees past what it should have been. so i don't know wether to rotate the cam at the timing chain or rotate the distributor. cause it could be eather.....
lol... i think i might be the proleme when i set the cam i set it with the first notch on the crank pully and the second is TDC so my cam is 5* ATDC of the crank, and the distibutor is too lol that might be the probleme lol. thats a big deal. wow ok ill see if it works.

basically i put my distributor cap facing the front of the car (to plug #1), made sure the cam lobes for both cams on cylinder #1 were facing away from eachother l<l (intake cam) l>l (exhaust cam), and i put the crank pulley on the tdc tick mark like u have illustrated above. and she worked. good luck.
