timming questions?

I am atempting to put the ka24e in my 89 coupe back in time.I am having a little trouble, all of the information thatI have found leads me to think that the keyways in the cam and crank are supposed to be straight up.But when I put the chain on and align the marks on the gears with the marks on the chain the keyways are off a little. Also which mark on the crank pully is top dead center. Please help!

I don't know. But I was curious... you're not doing this with an FSM?? It should say in there exactly how everything should be, I'd think.

I got the timming part figured out? Everything lines up, I do a compresion test ,and to my supprise no compresion.Turns out that the head is warped ,by the way the intake on these cars is a pain in the butt to get off.Still it's not all bad ,the car was free and I don't have anything in it yet.
