Too tall, moving seats even farther?

Hey I am looking at a 240 but im 6'4 I sat in it and it was drivable but my knees were on the wheel pretty much with the wheel tilted all the way back. Is the some way to maybe move the slider things on the floor even more back with some welding or something or is there a way to make the seat lower?

I have the same problem also but not as bad as you

Im thinking about just gettin a little bit smaller steering wheel and then gettin some lower bucket seats.

Well I dont have that much experience with that kind of stuff. I was just thiking lower to clear my knees a little and farther back to get my legs a little straighter. I dont like how those racing buckets feel or look. Can I get some stock looking seats or something simple that would help. What work would be required and how much do you think parts/labor would cost to do something like this.

low brackets only fit aftermarket seats. good quality aftermarket seats are approx 500+

since it seems you dont like the look/feel of them you can always get low end sparco and other craptastic seats

the most popular company that makes low brackets is BRIDE and they are not cheap. majority of the brackets sold are suniversal and only sit you higher.

hence why you need to take off your seat, look at your rails/sliders and find out a way to make them sit lower with a bracket.

with the knowledge and supplies it can be done for only 55 bucks.

ill be doing this soon since i needa fit my brix II in.

its not a "short" seat...its a LOWER seat

if ur head is hitting the roof. good luck cuz you wont be able to fit a helmet on at all.

get a racing seat with low brackets, walk away and have breakfast.

Running a Bride rail and a racebucket will get you way lower than what you are at now.

I am 5'11" and with a helmet and a sunroofed coupe I needed a couple inches.

By the time I got my setup (Bride FG and Kirkey race bucket) I was in a FB w/o sunroof.

It got me way lower. The FG is a side mount and teh kirkey is an aluminum seat. You assign how deep the seat sit's in the rail when you drill the mounting holes.

If you don't think you need a slider you can also use the mounts that kirkey sells (I think they are $40) and those will get you lower then the bride setup.

The only thing I didn't like was that my point of view changed a bit and I didn't get to see the outside corners of the front bumper as easy when I was in my oem seat.

I have a bride MO rail now (bottom mount) and will have that low seating position again. fun times ahead.

Also fellas with long legs. Look into aftermarket steering wheels and extensions. That will bring the wheel closer to you as you move further back. It will also make you less prone to slapping your knees and slapping the windshield wiper stalk when playing in autox, track or drift.

I will post a pick of my setup soon.

I found some leather seats off a 89-90??? that was in a salvage yard. They sit lower than the crappy stock cloth ones. I am 6'3" and i would say the steering wheel gets in the way a little (soccer player = big legs ;[ ) but i sit pretty comfortably in my current seats and with an aftermarket steering wheel that is just a little smaller, it'll be just perfect... also just wondering what u guys thought about the cast aluminum wheels from an altima on a 240. i slapped em on for 100 from the stock steel 240 wheels and the 5 aluminum spokes look pretty sweet for 100
