transmission ideas?

well my tranny wiring seems to be fryed and they say it will cost about 1500 to fix . i was talking to my mother about it and i told her wouldnt it just be cheaper to swap the tranny. so im thinking take a loan out and fix the damn thing by swapping out the tranny or let my gma pay the bill and continue to drive an auto for now till i get the money for boost and a 5spd swap. ideas would be great.

just swap the thing to a 5spd, don't waste your(or whoever is paying) money fixing something you're gonna take out anyway. Is this your first car?

When you swap to a 5 speed your only using 2 wire's from your fuse box to your tranny, yes that is correct I said 2 wires. So do the swap.

Woah there cowboy.

Youre gonna have to do the labor yourself or it is gonna end up costing well over a thousand bucks. Just get the pieces together, research, get some friends to help and go to it.

If your in NY join http://www.importfanatix.com/Forums there were about 3 s13 trans for sale recently not bad pricing ny/nj area. Might be able to find other 5speed parts needed as well. There are some good guys on there who help out each other with installs etc. I personally helped 3 local NJ s14s out with auto-manual swaps for lunch.drinks.dinner..
