weight reduction

What is the best way to shed some
pounds of a 95 240. I think droping
the back seats, pasanger seat, CF
hood and no a.c. or radio. How much
weight will that be? Can you tell a
dramatic improvement?

thnx

you're not gonna lose enough to be noticeable, and if you remove all that stuff your car is going to be loud as hell. Trust me, not worth the effort. Search and you'll find that out.

Buy the newest edition of import tuner. It has a whole section on weight reduction. I think they did it to a civic.
The ac=20lbs
cf hood 10lbs compared to about 35lbs
radio and speakers=20lbs.
I can't remember the rest. They also said for every 100lbs u take out u cut roughly .1 of ur 1/4 mile. They said every 18.8 lbs is the equivilent to adding 1 hp.Hope that helps

If your serious remove rear interior, sound insulation, all speakers, stereo, battery relocate, rear seats, spare tire, jack, carpeting. I also went with carbon fiber hood, fenders, and no AC. I saved about 270 lbs.

if you really want to be hardcore, strip the rubber coating off the undercarriage, we just done that on my crx (for show purposes) and just one half of it once we sweeped it up and put it in a trash bag, had to atleast weigh maybe 15-20 lbs. but we put countless time into doing that just scrapeing away, just an idea if you get bored one day.
