What to expect?
Hey im new to the forums. Have always liked 240's and the potential they have. I personally own a DA. But my girlfriend is selling her Camaro(thank god) with gas prices nowadays!
Anyways were going to look at a 91 240 coupe. The car is an automatic recently painted reg., smoged and has 200,159 miles! Is this something to look out for. The seller is the second owner. Below I have(if I did it right) have included pics of car in question.
Things/Question to look for and ask?Besides why he is selling, reason for repaint(possible accident). And through my search in the site people recommend checking the tie rods and tension rods. Is there a reason for this? The guy did say that about 45mph and above the car shakes, realignment or engine mount problem?
So what should I look for besides rust, tie rods, bondo and general wear and tear?
Thanks for all your help and hope to be surfing and posting on this site in the distant future!

Just look for the basic stuff you would when looking at a used car. The miles do seem like alot but it was well maintained it should still run strong. Checking the tie rods is just really making sure they are in good condtion and not busted, same goes for other suspension arms.
Move on and look for a 5speed stick. Better gas mileage. Easy to solve tranny problems. No matter what if he is selling that car for more than a $1000, do not buy it. You should expect to pay for a new engine down the road, or a new transmission, possibly even both. New engine and transmission at there cost would be worth the investment with that many miles on the car for $1000.
