What can I expect

Hey guys I'm new to this forum I just picked up a 93 240 with a KA24DE motor. I wanted to go to the track and test it out. I was wondering I currect have on it a injen CAI, lighten fly wheel and a catback exhaust. It's a stick so what is the best time I that has been posted with these mods and this engine. The reason I'm asking is my friend has a 03 auto maxima and we were going to run for fun. I wanted to know if I had a chance against him?

Thanks for all the help in advance

I think it will be close. Is the maxima stock? I wouldn't worry to much about it, Just go race him and see what happens, If you lose it dosen't really matter. Just make sure you do it at the track, not on the way to the track.

I think it should be close. But all he has is a CAI and I know that doesn't give him much. But I just keep think 03 max's run mid 14's and I don't know what the 240 runs with this engine.

I belive a stock 240 is mid or high 15's I could be wrong, but I know for sure that my 86 ford 4x4 302 would beat my 92 240sx no problem, the stock 240 is slow.

But I was thinking that with my lighten fly wheel and catback and intake I should be able to take him. But I guess time will see

I doubt a flywheel, intake, and catback will pull -a whole one second or so off your 1/4 mi. time. I use one second as an example because IIRC Maxima's are hitting high 14's-low 15's, whereas 240's are in the high 15-low 16 range.

Those Maxima's are pretty fast man. I think even a mildly tuned car like yours won't be able to beat an Altima SE (same engine as the Maxima, but lighter chassis)

Yeah as much as I love my car, I think that my car would probably lose to the maxima. I have cold air intake, headers, exhaust, short shifter, front and rear strut bars, and I also took out every panel and seats behind the front seats.

I highly recommend that you take out your rear seats and your spare tire at least before you race your buddy. The rear seats take all of maybe 45 sec. to remove from a 93 240sx. It's two tabs to get out the lower part. The upper part has a few screws and that's about it. So like 30 sec to remove the bottom and like 5 min. to take off the top piece.

But without a doubt, Welcome to the forum! and good luck in your race!!
