won't start when cooldown beggins?
Hello everyone, i'm new to this site, so just wunna say whats up first!
Ok, my problem is, my car won't start after i kill it, and let it sit for about 15 minutes or so. Once the motor cools back down completely, she starts right up. Yesterday i put my key in and and saw the temperature is way up there, so basically i think the motor is over heating once i kill it. Is there any way i can prevent this? She doesn't overheat when she's running, its only after Ikill the engine. And if i turn it of and let it sit for 10 min. or so, the temp goes u, but she'll start, and she cools down fast. Any help or info would be greatly appriciated! THANKS!

first i have a question a/s/l....wait forget i asked. what i meant was hi but i do have some serious questions.
1. is this something that just happened out of the blue or was there a specific event or time which you can remember that you could attribute this to?
2.have you checked the coolant level? these engines are notorious for acting up when the coolant level drops and the coolant temp sensor begins to give the ecu abnormal readings.
3.when you say it wont start do you mean that it turns over and wont start, or there's a click and nothing else or just nothing happens.
also the temp gauge and the coolant temp sensor are independent one from the other so the temp gauge may read one thing when in fact the actual temp is another. with what little information you've given us i already have an idea of the cause but if you could answer these questions i'd be about to say with a greater certainty.

Ok, here's some answers for you.
1) This has been going on since i got the car, Saturday.
2)I checked the coolant level, it was fine. But just to make sure, i did a radiator flush yesterday, and refilled it with a new bottle of Anti-freeze.
3)It rolls, but it wont crank up. Or it will sometimes start for just a second and idle around 400rpm,(yes, that is four hundred,to stop any confusion, lol)and then kill.

ok i can just about rule out my previous assumption. so rather than just guessing i suggest you check for trouble codes. it now sounds to me like you may have more than one problem. checking for code will eliminate much of the guess work.
