Is this worth $10K

I've been looking for a 95+ 240 with an sr swap and either s15 front end or kouki front end for awhile now. Found this http://www.dragva.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108213 it's in very good shape and has all the mods i would have done though it doesn't have an LSD and is going for $10k and the seller is really firm on the price. Should I just pic up a 95 240 and do the sr swap myself and front end conversion?

to me it is never worth buying a ride that was built buy another person... yeah it is or will or could be your car after buying it... but it is not built by you... someone had to do all the hard work and you get the credit for it...

plus in my experiance... it is being sold for a reason... sometimes that is a money thing other times it is because it is a money pit... im not sayin the guy is dickin ya or nothing im just saying...

if you build it you know what you have... you know what was done where it was done and (if you do the work yourself) how to fix any problems that might or will come up... 10 grand is a big chunk of change... i would trust me building a 10 thousand dollar car for me... not buying another persons 10 thousand dollar car...

but that is just me... others might believe it is easier to get a car with everything done to it already... until it cmes time to fix it...

the other thing here is... can you get all the mods labor and parts for 10 grand... i would think not... unless you have a budy in the parts business... but still i would spend my money on my car that i am building...

Any car that I guy is selling you obviously has problems. Any car that I customize I keep and run into the ground. I customize for my purposes and no one else, it would be stupid to spend $10,000 on a car that has a chassis that is over 10 years old, you never know what you are paying for or the abuse that the car has been through. If you ask me spend that 10grand for the down payment on an evo, or a STI. Buy something new. New items come with factory warrantees that is why they cost what they do. Buying a car for 10g's with no warrantees, isn't gauranteeing anything accept a money pit of problems down the road.
Plus any car with an illegal engine that you would want for street use has absolutely no value at all.
I say don't be RETARDED.

I Ran into these Speed Factor Guys at the track this past Sunday and there KA-T Drift Car is Bad ***.. I'm even getting my KA-T build pieces from them at stupid low prices. They will let you run a compression test if you ask, and PM me and I'll tell you how to get around MD.VA and D.C. Emissions Testing. The reason he's probably selling the car is Everyone is scrapping their SR20s and going KA-T. If he sells that car his next build is basically paid for. Hell I have a 95 Green Zenki Automatic I'll sell you for $2500 if your'e in the area.
