Is it an 89? (looking under your screen name) Sounds like one messed up car.

So basically, you're gonna need a new axle, new engine, new transmission, fix the steering, and probably a paint job. and some other miscellaneous stuff.

Are you gonna drop an sr20 in it? Because if you arent, it doesnt seem worth it.

I would stay away from that car. THe transmission is probably tilted and that's why it would go into hear properly. THis can happen from the accident or due to engine mounts being worn out. So I would stay away especially if its an 89. Not worth the trouble IMHO.

Try to find something thats in a little better condition.

Keep looking. I was able to pick up a car from a chick for $100. It was a 90 Auto. It ran and wasn't in an accident.

You will find one that will need less work.

We would never ever discourage someone from getting a 240, trust me. I would love to see more people get them, that will take advantage of the car. I would just rather look out for people and think that they are better deals out there.

Remember we don't want you to buy someone else's headache. You could have some handling issues later on and who knows what else, since the car is not in proper working order. If you want to get it. More power to you if you can restore it. But they are sooooo many out there that the labor and parts might actually be cheaper if you look for an alternative.

Are you gonna do most of the stuff yourself? Cuz the labor alone for that car will cost you a bundle.

listen ... buying a car like that is gonna give u a fair share of problems... u get what u pay for.... well like he said.. if u gonna do most of the studd yourself its worth it... also if the body is bad then its definitely not worth it... get a nice body and drop the sr in there... if the body was mint...then it might be worth it...

Look at MIKA from CT. The dude has Tein HAs like me. He has one side a full inch higher in the perch than the other to even out his car. Suspension problems can be a *****.

look man most of us with s13's deal with all kinds of little problems let alone a car that seems like it needs serious work. id hate to see anybody get a raw deal. there are a couple on ebay right now in your price range. a black and white s13. (sorry no link) look around a little while. you also have a truck to trade. think about that.

my two cents
