i haven’t tried it but i think it will come on and the ecu will recognize your speed and kill the engine till it comes down

the computer will close the throttle automatically until the speed drops below 115mph. then it will go up to 118.. and back to 115. back and forth until you deactivate the governor..

acually the computer won't close the throttle, 240's are too old to be drive by wire, they have a throttle cable. what would happen is the ecu would cut the fuel to the motor, so without fuel the motor can't produce power, friction and drag easily overcome the motor and bring the car down... now since i have not done this, but knowing the fuel cut on the rev limiter is harsh and deadly and will stall the car if you hit it at the right time, the car may bog until like 60-70mph before the motor catches again.

hmm... sounds a little dangerous to accidently reactivate the speed sensor while going over the limit.

lol. the engine wotn blow up, common, this aint holywood.

as i said before... if you flying 130mph... and you activate Sp.Gover... it will cut the fuel (thanx cougar10ag for telling me)
and the car will slow down to 115mph. (tested) and then it will accelerate back to 118mph. and then back to 115. until you deactivate the sp.gov.

now, the car will stall in only one case.
if you are doing 130 (for example), and activate the sp.gov... the car ecu will cut the fuel, and if you are gonna press clutch, or put it in neutral, the engine will stall, because of not enough mixture *to ingnite*.
but if you leave it in gear... it will always run.

tested.

so you tested activating the speed governor at 130mph, and it was safe.
all that happened was you reduced to 115mph, i just wanna make sure.

Back in the day I wanted to go Over the limiter so i put a switch betwen the cables that run to the speed sensor, and when i did this the speed went to 0 then I floored it for like 30 sec then turn it back on i was on 136 and it just felt like i took my feet of the accelerator. Luky for me I did this before The hurracane came, and everybody was home waiting for it, while i was on the highway going hundreds.

when you turned the switch off... while you were speeding ~ 136mph, the ecu cut the fuel in attempt to slow the car down.

=)

Yes I know, but now there's a new problem, I used to cut the total knolege of the speed to the car and some how this worked. Nut now that I can see the speed, it will only go up to 125, thats when it meets the 5K rpm and it won't go any further. I know this because I was racing my friends acura rsx and I beat it, but not for much cus he only got to 118 and I got to 125 on the highway. Now here's the dilema. If i cut the rpm's from the engine to the computer, it might go crazy and shut off or worst. and if i cut the sensor from the transmission, it might go into safe mode, putting it in 2nd gear and probably making it explode in a million pieces. So I'm stuck, I don't Know what to do, and another thing. I'm not buying one of those litle computer that fools the ECU so that it goes faster becus I think the price is too ridiculous for something that cost like 6 or 10 dollars to make. So any sugestions?

i did the speed sensor mod about 3 months or so ago, it took about 10 min, inorder to get 5th gear to go over 5k you need to unplug the sensor thats in the back of the tranny near the end of the gear box. that worked for me i was able to take my car to 6800. but this is different for different cars, i have a 89 so i had to pull plugs and test them out basically. but if u have a sohc there is just not enough power at the rpm range. i just got a CA18det so im doing the same mod with that. i read that the mod is better with higher powered motors

also i talk to a 240 guy who has owned his 240 since they came 2 america and has done almost every mod u can do. he said that this mod only screws up ur ecu and puts ur motor in jepordy. becasue when ur motor shuts off the fuel with ur pistons and things turning that high. the sudden boost from the fuel igniting could casue some problem
