(RPMS / 100) * 2.45 = YOUR SPEED

and are you having any expensive mods done to your engine? cause takin it to 6000 rpms will really take you a while - stock. [/B][/QUOTE]

it does not take as much as you think to get to 6000 rpms, i dont have that many expensive mods...

Hey, my car has a electronic speed sensor with the heads up display, and it won't go more than 125 at 5K rpms. I don't wana disconect any sensors from the trany becuz If I do it might go into safe mode, and it will drop from 4th to 2nd in like 2 sec, posibly making me loose control at 125 or blowing the **** hole out of the tranny, Any sugestions?

And what would happend if I Cut the rpm sensor to the computer? would it go crazy? would it fail? woudl it just send a stock signal so the engine still works and lower my performance, thus getting me no faster? Because I have known people who very stupidly remove the Flow sensor (MAF) and the car just sends a basic signal to the injectors to send fuel according to the rpms and such.... So would it work if I cut the rpms to the ECU?

And by the way, these people who do this do it becus they can't figure a way to install the MAF in with the cold air or whatever and they get it out to put the new intake, like droping performance from having no ECU control of air will compensate by getting cold air.....

so your car is automatic....
hmmm see, i dont f u c k with automatics... too many sensors and computer controlled parts.

but as far as i know, there is no such thing as a 'safe mode' . never heared about it.
so try find the speed sensor in your tranny and follow the procedure that i posted right at the begining of this thread. drive slow and see if it acts funny...

its a DoItYourself thing.

good luck.

are you sure?

cause my digital speedo only reads up to 125 mph and it stops going up (because 125mph = 199kph, my digital speedo only has number 1 for hundreds, therefore it cant show the kilometers per hour if speed is more the 199kph)

i mean i have done 140 mph, with a is300 next to me, but the speedo just kept on showing 125mph

are you sure it wasnt in KPH?

actually you might be right... it might read the actuall miles per hour but i am sure it will not show the kilometers per hour after 199kph.

hmmm weird.

and i dont know why but i NEVER thought a stock single cam KA will be able to go 150 mph.

yeah its stock. i consider that a stock motor since i dont have nething other then bolt on parts. i have areospeep downforce spoiler ugly as it maybe it kept my tires on the ground(before with out it at 125 my rear would start to sway and jump)

guys one word of advice if u are going that fast make sure the motor is built to handle it. a motor will go forever untill it blows. its only up to the programming of the ecu to limit how high u can rev.
also if any of you are looking into upgrading ur ecu with jim wolf technology and or a mines ecu i would not cut any of the ecu wiring. just go under the car and run a switch from the speed sensor and disconnect the 4th and 5th tranny sensor( varies with the year of 240)

Yeah I cut it and now my ecu says code 14 : speed sensor. like icare, but now my trans went to limp mode, staying in 2nd and it says code 54: ECU to A/T control unit circuit. now i'm stuck and I even soldered back the cable, but no efect.

try reseting the ecu... to do so, unplug the battery and let it sit for about 10 - 15 minutes.

see, i never delt with automatics, and cant really direct you to the problem... i mentioned that many times in first couple of pages.

but i think that reseting the ecu will fix it.

can you use apexi rev/speed meter and use the speed limiter cutter in the apexi?
