i need some clarification, Please enlighten me with your knowledge

i just sold my SRT4, my baby is gonna be born in 3 months and insurance and car payments were retarded on the srt. so now im looking for a 240sx, a s13 preferably. Of course from owning a turbo cars ever since i started driving im going to want to turbo my 240sx. ive been reading up on the sr20, but it seems kind of costly and i dont think it will be good to be daily driven. atleast with the ka i can order parts from my shop when it breaks down. i will be doing all the work myself, so how reliable is the ka and how much boost can it hold on stock internals? and would i be able to have my ka turboed with $1500? i wil scavange around to find parts cheaper, because the complete kit is going for $2600.. any opinion or facts will be appreciated. thank you

not to drive you away from ka-t plans but i have a few friends that DD sr20 powered 240's without any issues. but check out some net sites like ka-t.org, etc. good luck and keep us updated

The KA24de is achievable up to 400WHP on stock internals (Forged rods and crank). So depending on your set up and the ecu tune anywhere from 17 to 20PSI depending on the turbo.
Most people go with the basic T28 or for bigger numbers a T32 since it spools well on the KA's 2.4 litre displacement.

Yeah the only thing that needs to be changed after 280whp is the KA tranny. It doesn't hold up well after that. Best bet would be to get an RB20, sr20, or get the VG30 tranny.

Don't they have lots of VG30de tranny's sitting in the wrecking yards these days? You can get them for about as much as a KA tranny cost...

wouldn't be matt martin would it?
the single cam motor has alot of potential too. either motor needs to be in suitable condition before heavily modifying it or turbocharging it. and an sr20 is not the only option as far as swaps, rb20, rb25, rb26, ls1 are just a few of the popular swaps
