Unhappy Rod Knock!!

Whats Thebest Way Of Approaching This Without Getting A New Motor? I Already Have Bc Rods But I Didnt Want To Put Those In Till I Had Pistons And Everything But I Feel Like Im Gonna Be Forced To Put Them In Now. Any Suggestions? N Btw I Thought The Knock Sensor Would Shut Down The Car If It Felt Knocking?
Help!!!!!

well yes and no. the knock sensor only detects and reports the presence of pining. the ecu then retards timing accordingly and the knocking is what ultimately shuts the car down.

now my question is, do you have rod knock or just pinging? pinging can be dealt with by correcting the timing or using higher octane fuel while rod knock means it's time for a rebuild.
