I have a 95 240SX SE and the car runs fine. The only problem I have is that there is white/ hint of blue-ish smoke coming from my exaust when I rev the car right after it has been started. It also smokes when I let the car sitting for a minute then rev the car. When Im driving it doesnt smoke though. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

 

it is either valve seals or rings starting to go bad on your car... what is happening is oil is starting to seep into the combustion chamber... it happens on high mileage vehicles... ( i noticed you have 220,000 miles on it) we have a ford truck at work that does the same thing... we call it the mosquito killer it smokes so bad on take off and start up...

to solve the problem the engine will need an overhaul... bearings rings and a valve job... should solve all of your problems...

 

how much does an overhaul usually cost?

 

depending on how far you go with it... a head job is about 300... bearings rings and gaskets about another 300... that is if you dont have to bore the motor... if you have to buy new pistons then the price will go up what ever your new pistons and rings cost you...if you cant do the work i can help you out as long as you are not all that far away... im in knoxville... and we could have it all done in 2 days if you had all the parts... if you need a hand let me know... i have the tools needed to do everything except boring the block... but if it comes down to that i might be able to get it done in a day as well... just let me know...
