anyways, my car has had a slight "stumble" to it the day i got it. Seems like the stumble has gotten a little more dramatic.
The car sometimes hesitates when under load between 2700 and 3200 Rpm or will Die right after starting it.
Ive done....
fuel filter Z32
plugs & wires
cap & rotor
All fluids changed
cleaned intake
Checked all emissions
couple other thing.. (cant remember lol)
My guess is the timing is off.
how do i advance / retard the ignition timing?
Do I loosen the distributer and slighty turn it one way or the other?
Which way is advancing and which way is to retard?
Also, does it sound like I have to advance my timing?
As an assistant mechanic (age 17) Ive done lots of different jobs, headgaskets, transmission, engines, tune ups, fluids, body work, etc...
But I havent realy done anything that has to do with the ignition timing.
ANY help would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

ok thanks, The problem with the idle was I found a vacuum line that was disconnected, and I retarded the ignition timing, Runs smoother but still has a little stumble to it. tonight I'll be doing a Compression test.
Does anyone know what the normal compression specs for the KA24E engine is?
Once im done the test I'll post my results, and maby a video of the stumble.
Also I forgot to mention my timing chain makes a rattle noise at about 3,000 Rpm.
but thats expected from these KA engines.

well accualy once in a blue moon the heat shield will rattle only when its really cold, but, the noise that im talking about is my timing chain.
the slack side of the chain is REALLY slack and slaps on the casing. I'm going to be fixing that .. in time ..
