96 head on my 91 ka. couple questions

anything i should do or replace while i got the head off? im not talkin performance cams and forged pistons or anything like that just basic stuff. im broke atm and im just trying to get my baby back on the road and running strong. any problems i may run into that yall know of? thanks as always everybody

lol is there anything wrong with it? You know the old saying- if it ain't broke don't fix it! To me the risk of breaking something expensive isnt worth replacing parts that still serve their purpose. How is your compression and stuff?

you will need the 96 valve cover with the 96 head

got that and all the gaskets just missing a torque wrench and previous knowledge of a head removal and install lol

Replace the 96 cams with the 91 cams.

New head bolts...never reuse them

Hell, while you got the head off you might as whell replace the timing chains and related parts.

ive inspected the front covers and the s13 gasket is different from the s14 if your wondering

yep got the 91 cams in the s14 headgasket but im stuck. i cant get either exhaust or intake manifolds off. on the exhaust i got it all unscrewed except one pipe that runs behind the engine, i cant get that off. on the intake side there are some bolts that i have no clue how to reach so my car is just jacked up waiting for me to do the transplant =( anybody in san antonio wanna help

Cut it off to remove it, and plug the EGR stuff when you reinstall...or WD40, and patience. It's not to hard to get to under the car really.

And use lots and lots of swivels and extensions. Couldnt hurt to look at the FSM to make sure you got all the bolts either.
