another 248 cam question.......

well, i picked up a 248 ex. camshaft from a buddy for $20. he swapped in a nice a$$ built CA. anway......he told me somethin about keepin the cam sprockets(off my spare s14 KA motor) and printing a picture off of JWT website(i gues their pic of their sprockets are 1/2 the size of real sprockets-he said he blew the pic up 50% or somethin and BOOM was on point with it) but print off the pic and he used it to drill out his own cams and made his own "adj cam gears". anyone know anything about this???

moving on...........

so i got the 248 off him and headed home to play with my s14KA(see what i was in for on the whole cam removal). got the cam out and was soon in for some fun......i laid the 2 next to each other and i see absolutly no diff between the 2. i was thinkin the the original owner of the s14 KA already did the 240/248 cam swap in his motor. is there any diff between the 2 to tell a diff???? how can i find out which is what???

and on top of all that.....upon further inspection.........the ex. cam i took out of the s14 KA had '93' written on it in what looked like chalk. I was thinkin that maybe these cams came out of a 93 KAde. looked like he got them from a pick and pull type place or a place that already had them pulled or pulled them out for him. i dont know. Im beyond confuzed. i wanna know if i had a 248 cam the whole time under my nose and if i just went out and wasted $20 on somethin i already had.

Any input or feedback on this would be the shyt on helpin me figure this out. in advance to those who can help.......thanx a ton. later yall

Did you try searching?

The only way to really know the duration of the cam (if it's 232 or 240 or 248) is to measure the lobes with a micrometer.
