Before we can help you figure out what is wrong you need to give us more info. such as do you have spark? you smell fuel so you know you have that.... air filter isnt clogged so you have air, assuming your timing chain didnt jump or break you shoudl have timing..... leaves us with spark to check.... if you do have spark, then it should ignite and you prob lies elsewhere.... if you have no spark, look at coil, cap and rotor and the cam/crank position sensor.... If you have bad plug wires then it shoudl start and just run like crap.... If your plugs are fouled out then you will have spark at the plug wires but not completing the circuit at the plug gap. I am sure there are other sensors to check also but those are the main ones i can think of. Let us know.

youre an idiot... if its not starting, and he smells gas (im assuming from exhaust) then there's no problem there. I would first look at if i had spark or not, maybe check the timing, do a thorough ignition tune up, and seafoam it. THEN, i would check to see if you have sufficient fuel pressure or maybe too much... have you been running rich?

We need more info for a diagnosis.
From what you have said, sounds like you have no spark.
Check all of the equipment that deal with ignition. Also check fuses and relays.
If there is no spark then the fuel wont burn. So that maybe the gas smell.
Good luck.
