Car won't start=(
My 1989 240sx won't start, an hour before it stopped working it started right up. I just got a new battery for it too. The starter clicks so I know its not that. Do any of you guys think it could be the alternator? If so let me know right away, tonight I could get 50% off if I got buy one from Advanced Auto parts but I just wanted to know before I went out and bought something.
Any help or comments would be appreciated thanks.

Do your lights go and everything? If so..then it's not your battery, and most likely not your alt. Have you tried hitting the starter to see if that works....
Is there a spark?

The car dosen't even make the clicking sound for the starter anymore, and the radio won't even turn on, the seat belts won't even latch back anymore. Could it be the starter and the altnerator?

volt regulator since its not built into the alt.
BECAUSE i to JUST did that for the past few hours, installing a new alternator and still i can start the car and drive it about 2.5 miles then it decides to put the break light on then it shuts off and just clicks..
SO it wasn't an alternator problem.
check your grounds to, i put a post up on here, but no one responded to it...
also when i had the bad alt in there the headlights (beams) and reverse lights work, but nothing else will come on
when we got the car started we put it in neutral and hit the gas really hard and it made the belt ding noise and then the radio came on and such..
so its one of or all of 3 things:
1 Alternator (doubt it)
2 Volt Regulator
3 Grounds

I just got to work now, parked the car, and it doesn't want to start up again. seems like the battery is dead, but i would like to know before hand where the voltage regulator is?

Isn't there 4-5 fuses in that box that have the clear housings??
Would it be the alternator if the car won't start to begin with? The alternator keep's the car running after it has started up right?
If your sure the battery is charged, I would lightly tap the starter relay switch(blue) with a screwdriver and have someone try to start it at the same time. If it start's then you know to replace the $19 double blue started relay.
It could also be the Ignition switch- LS794 Wells part # $120
I would check all fuses and clean the battery terminals first. Then tap the starter relay. If no start, I would then hit the start with a block of wood. If no start I would look towards the ignition switch or clutch switch-neutral safety switch..
