okay, since youre an ubernoob, this is the 411. The KA motors dont have timing belts, they use chains. There should be 3 belts if im not mistaken, Alternator, A/c, And power steering. The a/c belt is adjusted on the bottom of the motor, which is probably the one youre missing... does the a/c work, or even have a compressor?

okay so the car still isnt starting? Is it cranking over? When you put the key in "on", does anything come on? Does ANYTHING work?

well you cant see them without taking off the valve cover and/or the timing chain cover... theyre kept oiled all the time, so you cnat see them just looking under the engine bay.

So the engine is turning over but it wont start and run?

Okay, so to get you straight on this, because after reading your posts, you sound quite confused.

1) The Timing Chain is INSIDE the engine, under the valve cover.

2) What you are missing are BELTS. If a belt has slipped off, THAT would be why your car probably won't start. If all your electrical works, and the car won't turn, it's probably because you don't have your alternator belt on.

this sounds real stupid but... if it cranks but wont run... is there gas in it??? and if there is fuel in the tank is the fuel pump working??? is the motor getting spark... you said you changed sparkplugs but are they getting spark???

Heres where having a buddy comes in handy. Have him sit inside and crank on the motor, while you take each spark plug wire off. See if theres spark, just dont do like a lawnmower and shock yourself to test it... its hella strong. Also, pull off the fuel line, either coming out of the filter, or going into it, and have your buddy put the key in the "on" position, the fuel pump SHOULD pump fuel to prime the cylinders. Check to see if your spark plug wires are on right, and that your engine is timed correctly. Ill try to think of some more stuff, but that should keep you busy for a while.
