car wont start
#61
good now we're getting somewhere... how did you get it to start? It seems like it has less power, so is the motor shaking? Or can you hear that the car isnt running on all cylinders? Maybe the timing is off. The more info the better.

well wat i did was play around with the distributor to try and straiten out the timing..its like the engine seems more quiet than usual..when im idle..i can still here the enigine but now it seem s as if the car is off when im idle...the engine also jerks a lil bit when its in idle also

I'm no leet on 240 mechanics... i'mma backyard mech... If you want to ghetto-rig your timing... there's a bolt on your distributor... the top one... a 10mm... have your car running... then loosen the bolt and move the distro-cap left or right... and listen to how your car sounds. obviously you want it revving a lil higher... nothing more than like 900 rpms... so move it bit by bit... tighten bolt... check tach...
Lather - Rinse - repeat as necessary
I did it to one of my old 240's that ran on no emission sensors... felt faster then the 97 eng in my 240 now... 8(
