Check Engine Light
Check Engine Light
I just installed my RS Akimoto Intake on my 96 240. There is a plug that connects to the airbox, before the MAF. I wasnt able to connect this plug to any part of the intake so I taped it up and secured it. Now my check engine light comes on whenever the car is running. Is this going to be a problem for my car? Has anyone else encountered this problem? If I put my stock airbox back on will the check engine light go off, or will it stay on? If so, how do I reset it?
thanks guys

I tried doing that after I installed a 3.3k OHM resistor on the ITS, and it didnt work. So I simply used my OBDII handheld diagnostic computer, checked to make sure the ITS was my only problem, then cleared the code. Everything works great now, and most importantly no CEL~!!!
thats what I ended up doing. I put in the 3.3k Ohm resistor, elec taped it up. and used my OBDII tool to "erase" the error code. Everything works good now...if I could only keep my right foot OFF the floor.
