Couple problems please help!

So i just picked up a 240 ( http://www.club240.com/forums/showth...threadid=33310 ), and im having a couple issues.

#1 My digital speedo isnt working. I was messing around with the button for it and it suddenly worked! Then, when i shut off the car and then on again, it didnt come back on. Also, i just realized that all the cluster lights and center console lights dont come on with the headlights. Coincidence?

#2 Car doesnt start 2 out of 5 times i try. I turn the key and absolutely nothing happens. I tun again, nothing. Take out the key, check the trans to make sure its in park, and everything, still nothing. Then randomly, vroom, starts like a charm.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!

Ok found one more :/

#3 I has the car running at idle for 10 minutes or so with the lights and everything on. Then the car looses power, the headlights dim, the radio looses power and turns off, and the car wont accelerate more that 1500 rpms. The as randomly as it appeared, it dissapeared. Wtf just happened? I dunno, any suggestions?

OK, to better help, hes a picture of all the lights that actually come on with the headlights. The picture is kinda fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Now, as you can see, only the radio, trans, ac lights( the green light for the buttons only ), and the seatbelt/other red lights in the dash come on. The clock light is on untill i turn on the lights, it then goes off. Wierd. Please help.

Funny thing bout electrical probs is you have to trace them out, and following a wire in a car is a *****. Is your alternator and battery working properly and connections are good? (no loose connections) also grounds i'm no expert but that's all i can think of to try and fix it. also try and check the diagram it helps you trace the wires.

Battery is good. Alternator, im not sure, but it doesnt sound like the problem to me. As far as the grounds go, it could be. Im going to take a look at all the wiring and stuff to make sure nothing is loose when it stop pouring :/ . Thanks keep em comming!

So i went to start the car today, and it wouldnt. I gave it a jump start and it worked. But when i tried to turn on the headlights or signals, the car dies. Now im thinking it might be a battery/alternator combo problem. But my question is, would the alternator cause the digi speedo and cluster lights to not work?

(Gauge Lights)

check the wiring for your cd player.... also do your tail lights work when you turn your headlights on (mine didn't)..... i had this problem with my s14 and the problem was the cd player was grounded into the illumination wire (orange i believe)... anyway thats my suggestion... and as for the alternator problem i agree
