Electric fan problems

I just bought my car about a month ago and when I started it up I heard an intense clicking sound. I shut off my engine and low and behold my electric fan was sticking in my rad. Well my rad is fine, my pulley fan is okay too. My engine seems to heat up relatively fast, but always stops before half. I am looking to put either a new electric fan in or switch to an aftermarket setup. It seemed that the thing going around the pulley fan slipped and caused my problem.

Would there be any benefit putting a aftermarket electric fan in? And is it a matter of a new fan?

Electric fans are the only way to go. Get an altima electric fan set up, or a flex a lite, make sure you get a good thermostatic switch.

pros: reduce parasitic loss, more mpg, better throttle response

cons: a well rounded set up cost a lot, drains alternator power (may need to upgrade if you have a sound system)

conclusion: well worth it and itll pay for itself over time with the savings in mpg!
