Exclamation electric supercharger?

ok, who has tried this? it seems interesting, but doubtful. i knew a guy a few years ago that put a rather large leaf blower to his 2.8 mustang hb, i thought it was a dang joke, but are these guys really making gains? i saw this esuperchargers.com website and i'm curious, drop me a line if you know anything about this

general consensus is that stuff in such a nature are gimmicks and are usually not well built. esp if they are just selling "instructions" for you to build your own. id hate to have something like that fail and have parts inhaled into the intake manifold/head. kaboom!

that would be my first concern, i've noticed, you can buy plans (most websites tell you how and show you pictures of things you need to make one) but one did come to mind, and for a whooping 1695, you could have a thomas knight 'steiner, this thing looks horrible, but they say it makes power, but you have to recharge the batteries after you play with it for a short time. if i'm spending 1700 on my car its not going to a eletric supercharger.
i have a supercharged gen 1 mr2, i'm not impressed at all by it, i couldn't even sell it for 500 bucks, and it runs great!
i'd like to get big V's opinion on the thomas knight joke, 1700 in parts for my car would be a monster itself without supercharging, one day, i will get a stroker kit, but for now, i'll settle bolt ons

Well, a couple of things separate the TK supercharger from your "E-Ram Supercharge Any Car For $69" scam. First off, the compressor section is actually a centrifugal compressor, not some goofy axial-flow fan. Second, the electric motor and associated power supply wiring and controller are actually beefy enough to have a hope of delivering enough energy to actually do something.

Not saying that it works, just pointing out that it looks like a serious attempt.

It's junk, the boosthead supercharger only good for short bursts beacuse it's running on batteries that you have to store in the trunk, they compare it to nitrous, which would actually be cheaper lol. And eram is even worse because it does at most 1.5psi, and it's just a fan you put in your intake, and I heard of someone who had their engine trashed by a fan blade breaking loose.

I actually bought a E-RAM last year, spare change. I was curious cause in the video they had on the site it made a cool whinning sound lol. i held it in my hand and turned it on and it has enough power that it almost flies out of your hand. I could actually feel some power in 1st gear from it, but 3rd gear and on i had no clue if it was workin or not. So i conclude 5hp noticable on 1,2gear = $300 should be spent else were.

1700 dollars though, i could have my head p+p at stage 2 specs, full performance rebuild and still have money left to get an intake an bore out a throttle body, might have enough for full tank of high octane as well, and all thats pure power on tap, the man has found a gimmick that sells, damn, why can't i be that smart?
