hey wats up, i have a '89 240sx hatch and all the electric except for the headlights will not turn on untill i rev it up once. if anyone knows wat might be a problem please let me know cuz im runnin out of ideas. thanks

 

If you have a multimeter, check the voltage at the battery when the key is off, and when the engine is running at idle.

Hey I just had the same problem with my S13 and guess what I got it figured out. after using a voltmeter for a while I noticed one of the fuses in the engine bay was blown. Look in the fuse box near your battery. It's gonna be the charging system or alternator fuse or something like that. anyway its the one on the far left furthest away from the headlights. They have plastic covers over the top of the fuse to prevent humidity from burning it out. Hit the local salvage yard and pick up one of those fuses and pop it in. i had the same exact problem you had and that completely fixed it for me. Good luck.
