Fuel Pump Is Not Working

My car is almost done, but I can not get the fuel pump to work. When I run a hot wire to the fuel pump positive side, the pump will work and the car fires up. I need to figure out why there is no power running to the pump. There is power runnoing to the fuel pump assembly because there my fuel floaty is working. Any ideas guys?

there is a fuel pump relay on most fuel injected cars... depending on which car you have it will be in a different place... if you have or are doing a swap then you dont have the right wires going to the fuel pump relay... look in your fsm for the location of the fuel pump relay and test that... there are diagnostic sections dealing with the fuel pump in the service manuals...

a little more info on what car you own and if you have done a swap on it or not...

The car is a 1991 s13 with a ka24de motor in it. The car came from a junkyard. Everything was still intact when I got it. I just finished the 5 speed swap on it because it was an automatic. I did jumper the two wires together so the car would start.

Check the simple stuff first. Like the fuel pump fuse in the underhood fuse box.

I had a nissan tech come over to my house and he said it was the ECU. I have to switch to a 5 speed ECU because I just finished the swap. The car fires up perfectly on the forst crank. The ECU is still good according to him. This is the forst I have heard of switching ECU's for a s13 manual transmission swap. I thought auto ECU's ar eo.k. on 5 speed swaps.

they are okay... at least in everything that i have seen posted on the subject... as long as the wiring for the shifter and key were done right...
