i have an 89' nissan pick up with the sohc 8v ka24 and a four speed manual. is there any way i can swap the dohc 16v ka24 head on to the old block(low milage) and/or swap a five speed onto his motor. i know a whole swap would be easier but i have a junk yard near me and theres a 240 that snapped a rod. good for cheap parts.

A whole KA24DE swap sounds good to me. But you will have to figure out the mounts, wiring and lines

id imagine i could use the the rear end from the 240and the lsd as well. make it like that drift s13 pickup exxcept mine actually is a pickup. but im still wondering if i can swap the heads on them?

i'm not 100% sure, but i thought there were some slight differences on the accessories (like distributer placement, etc) between the 240 and the pickup. like i said, i'm not sure. i think there was a discussion in the KA24 forums over at NICO about this same thing.

From what I know, it isnt a direct swap. I've heard there is some modifications needed...but not sure on what.
