Help Me Please!!!!!!running Rich

OK heres the thing when I first start my car after it has been sitting for awhile white smoke will steadly flow out my exhaust until I drive the car. It stinks of gas real bad while it is at idle when first started, you can even see the gas comming out in liquid form. Now once I start driving the car for about 5 minutes it goes away. I will drive for about 5-10 mins come back home and leave it idling to see if it starts to smoke again or to see if I see gas comming out but i dont soooo.....I have came to the conclusion that it only runs rich when first started at idle until driven and once it has been driven it will stop running rich until car is cut off and re started. Any ideas as to the problem that may be causing this???

Maybe bad o2 sensor, or MAF sensor. Also, check if your air filter needs to be cleaned.

the liquid comming out is not fuel it is condensation inside of the exhaust... if it were gas your fuel gague would be going down faster than your tach is going up... with that much flooding your car would not run... i would check the out and the mafs...as well as the tps...

correct me if im wrong but if your running rich black smoke should be comming out you exhaust aka carbon... usually white smoke is associated with coolant burning in the combustion chamber.. i would do a compression check and see if you head gasket is in need of replacement....but another thing is the tps and other deices along with the ecu change the air fuel ratio to a more richer mixture upon start up to warm the car up and keep it running till its warm that would explain why once u drive the car it doesnt do it anymore ... hope some of this info is helpfull..test the things related with air fuel mixture..o2 sensor tps aiv(or whatever its called) mafs,etc..

black smoke would indicate oil not gas, white smoke = gas

no you are incorrect.. white is caused by the burning of coolant in the combustion chambers.. black is carbon from running too rich or babying your car all the time..and blue is the color of burning oil...

Black is running rich.

White is coolant and condensation.

Blue/white = oil

Usually by smelling you can tell a lot too.

Too many variables could be affecting it. Diagnosing cars over the interweb isn't much fun. Why don't you just take it to a professional instead of playing guessing games?

First like any mechanic check to see what code your ecu picks up.....
If nothing, then I would suggest that you have a leaky fuel injector.
If not that you may have some more serious issues, see a mechanic........
