hot cam swap is awesome!
Well I finally got the car running after the hot cam swap. I put the exhaust cam from a 91 onto the intake side of my 92. I also put a upper intake manifold without scv's on it. I had some serious problems getting the car started after that. Took about two days of troubleshooting, but finally got it running. Turns out that somehow the crankshaft position sensor in the dits went out. I verified the timing several times and it would idle, but i couldn't pick up the throttle at all. I swapped out another dits a friend had around and it fixed the problem right away. I love driving the car now. It feels like it pulls much more linear than a big kick that dies off. Now I am looking for what I can afford to do now.

yea i got a 248 altima cam im thinking about swapping in but i dunno i hear u loose alot of low end and id rather try something like 240/232 or 248/240 or 248/232 instead of 248/248 because im not looking for all high end i like mid to high.. 3000-6500 would be good probably :P

It doesn't feel like I lost to much on the bottom end. of course I don't have dyno numbers to back it up, which I know is the real tell. I may have lost a little, but it doesn't feel like to much if anything at all. The thing I like about it is it just pulls so much easier throughout the rev range. Definately makes driving and passing on the highway so much easier.

that definately sounds like a good idea. I just got a header. I want to save up and get a full exhaust with high-flow cat. and then work on the computer deal. I will definately keep the adjustable timing gears in mind though.

infact using a 93-95 altima exhaust cam is better than using a 240sx cam due to the small difference between the 2..
the altima cam actually puts the cams specs (overlap and opening/closing times) closing to being like stock so there is less need of an adjustable cam gear...
all u have to do is cut off a small part aT THE END OF THE ALTIMA CAM THAT RUNS THE DIZZY...

I've been going back and forth with the 4 and 3 Tooth combo over the past couple of weeks and I'm certain the 3 Tooth is gonna be better on the 1/4 so on the 25th of this Month I'll finally make it to Maryland International Raceway to get the Timeslips.
