ka24de rebuild Q's

my 91' 240 has 265,000 kilometres on it now and im thinking about rebuilding it and adding some cams and maybe some other things. for the rebuild im mainly just gonna replace the piston rings and seals, head gasket and valve cover gasket. i dont think that im gonna want to do anything more than that for now. i was just wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction to where i could find these parts... mainly the rings and seals. everywhere i go i can find lots of stuff for the sr but very little for the ka

if anyone has any recommendations on what else i should replace im all ears. thanks guys

rebuidling

My ka24e blew about two months so I'm in the process of rebuilding. I'm going to take the cylinder and get it shaved down 10,000 of an inch to add 5-15 horsepower to the engine. Plus get the intake manifold, throttle body, and head ported and polished. Then get the exhaust manifold wrapped to insulate the heat therefore adding horsepower. And probably get an urthodox underdrive pulley to let the engine rev higher.

I thinks thats about it

what pistons are you gonna use w/ your bigger bore cylinders? the UR pulley duzn't let your engine rev higher.

If your engine blew and your rebuilding it make sure you check out ALL your journals (spelling?) and have them hone bored if needed.

is there a max on mileage when considering a rebuild? how damaged can an engine be and still be rebuilt and function properly?

As long as you didn't through a rod or valve you should be able to rebuild it.
