They are a lot more things for the sohc NA than compared to the dohc, but I feel that since the dohc starts off with 20 more horses, its more able to gain more HP than a SOHC

Nissan Motorsports is pretty much all sohc stuff. I think the Dohc is better for n/a build up since it has higher stock compression. But then again with higher compression who knows what the sohc would run?

Depends how far you want to go with it. If you are looking to make power on a street driven car, then the DOHC is the way to go. You start with more power, and it responds well to mods. I'm not sure what numbers anyone has to back up the claim that the SOHC responds better.

For an n/a race motor - SOHC is the easiest way. There are many people racing this motor and you will not have a hard time finding the parts to bring you to ~300hp n/a. Of course, the end result will be a side-draft carbed high compression beast that you won't be able to drive on the street. Oh, and it will end up costing more than a turbo setup. Possibly more than a turbo setup and a 1991-1993 car to bolt it on to.

i've never heard about anything diffrent between our 240 and the canadiian 240 except the canidians all(from what i heard) come with the vlsd. so you might want to get that with the engine package.

i know PDM racing has a bad *** cam for the sohc motor... of course with this you're going to need fuel management also. NA is so much more $$ than FI.

FI IMHO is way more $ than Natural. Up to a certain point there is no more than you can go natural, but with FI the ceiling is almost unlimited.

FI is also easier. I know that NASport runs S14s with SOHC engines. But they are a race team and have the budget to boot.

I know there is a dude in NJ getting his SOHC engine built by a professional company.

Give Sunbelt a call, they should be able to advise you on your SOHC needs. (770) 932-0160

I think it is more so that it has been done before so there is a proven path to follow.

Plus the people there to do the job and sell you the parts.

200 rwhp from a SOHC is not streetable from what I have read.
