Yeah, but how many Mustangs can go nearly 200 mph? Sure a Corvette could, but the comparison was with the Mustang.

Stock v8 Fbodies now will max out over 160mph unmodified right off the lot and can turn in high 12 second 1/4 miles. I would never want to own another fbody... but that's a real high speed for a cheap American car. Our pride and joy 240's will only go about 130-135 in stock form if you remove the speed limiter. I believe the Lingenfelter tuned versions of the f-body will hit 200mph. I don't know what those cars run in the 1/4 though.

I have seen a few different reports, from n/a V8 to VQ based v6 with dual electric-assist turbos. I don't even know what the heck an electric assist turbo is. I can guess, but I've never seen one - it's certainly not a cheap bolt on!

Well, time to straighten something out. If I remember right it said world record holding for street tires. It CAN hit 200MPH with how it is just now.....6 speed tranny can actually go a bit higher. It is an 8 second daily driven Skyline that runs 8's on street tires.
Now, the 240SX can hit about 150 mph stock after removing the rev and speed governors...providing you have a long stretch of road. The RB25 engines can hit 150 as well.
To clear one more thing up the SKYLINE WAS ALREADY RELEASED!
You guys are still saying you can't wait. Ever seen the G35 from infiniti? Looks kinda like the 350Z? That's the new Skyline. It uses the same 3.5L V6 as the 350Z and G35 here in the states (G35 here - R35 there) except Japan has the Twin Turbo model of this engine that is hitting 280HP (NA here is 289) They use a computer to greatly decrease motor power and turbo power support. By getting a new chip and running 7 psi, these engines have about 400HP stock.....any more questions?

I have friends in Japan that say otherwise and have seen them. 3.5L twin turbo Skyline, check around on the web, there's tons of info on them already. Maybe the ones he saw had a TT upgrade already if it comes na, who knows? Visit Skylinesdownunder.co.nz forums if you wanna get down with it.

well yes the g35 is the so called "skyline" but im talking about the gt-r which is "supposedly" going to still be released under infinity. but it "supposedly" be a twin turbo model of the 4.5 liter v8....
This came from 2 nissan engineers who went to my friends house to examine his se-r...they said they arent sure if it will go through but its what they want.

The TT Skylines are running a VQ30DETT, not a VQ35.
Emissions laws changed in Japan and Nissan had to lose the RB. They had to come up with something quick to get the necessary cars on the road in order to race in production classes. The VQ30DETT was a project already developed and they went with that mainly for convenience. I'm also guessing that their clases are similar to the way GT cars are classed here, and going over 3.0 liters of displacement would likely bump them up a class.

A stock 240 will not hit 150mph... at least not under its own power. ~135 mph is the drag limited top end... the motor just doesn't have the power to overcome aerodynamic resistance at those speeds. Upgrades will obviously raise this number, but removing rev and speed limiters will not.
