Need Help My Ka Blew!

I don't really know whats wrong, I think it blew, won't start. Also when I force it to start, with a wire from the battery to the starter, it starts shaking and knocking like crazy. So I was just wondering. Should i rebuild my ka24de, buy a used one, or get a sr20 swap? my budget is around 1200. Anybody know any good cheap complete sr20s?

i dont know much about anything but i doubdt you will find a sr that cheap, i thin kthey are around 2 or 3g's.
sounds just like you got rod knock im sure you can save that motor for cheaper than a new swap one, exspecially if you can do it yourself. maybe your crankshaft or harmonic balancer is just messed bad, w/e it is dont keep doing it when the engine is done it dose nothing so you still can save this one im sure.

but i have no exp to tell you but i been around engines that blew up and once they seize they seize. but sounds like alot is wrong with you car there must be a fuse out. or maybe the injectors are messed up and they are washing the cylinders out, and the knocking noise is just predetonation. happened on my dads deisel there both injected so it could be a possiblity.

but i wouldnt trust my theories im sure someone else could be of more knowledge than me

EDIT: im sure if you pull the spark plugs out you could find out if it is injector related, it would probly be flooded big time. or when is the last time you changed plus? maybe that is just it. and possibly a timming issue.

or maybe just get professional help and if you can hook it up to an anylyzer?

^^^wow. first of all, sr's aren't around 2-3g's. they start at around 1500. KA's are runing about 200-400 bucks nowadays. KA's don't have harmonic balancers. It would cost you more to fix a ka than to get a new one.
