Sounds to me like you got quite the junker. I would save the troubles and just get another ka or whichever motor you want.

yeah, the HG is blown, thats for damn sure. If he's already fixed it once, i'd say upgrade to the DE, or you could try replacing the gasket and machining it, but for that price you could probably find a good working DE for cheap and drop that in, although there's a few more things you gotta do to make a DE work in a 89-90. Maybe you could find another E?

dont be foolish.
coolant mixing with oil is torn water jacket in the timing cover.
you need a timing kit and cover
the chain gets lose and eats up right nest to the water pump,
in front of the thermostat housing.
the headgasket will need to be changed agin if you dont stop driving it.
my 90 240 did the same thing lst year. and the timing was so off that it wouldnt start.
i would check this out before you give up like a little ***** and sell the car. once you make the decision to become a 240 owner you will have to deal with stuff like this.
240's turn boys to men
and some men to ricers

what one are you gona be?

Well 9 out of 10 times when you have a blown head gasket itll puff out a blueish smoke. For example, if you see people who own chrysler mini vans, the older ones..... they are PRONE to blow head gaskets and thats why you see em puffin out blue smoke. Just an example. So most likely the gasket is fine.
Rudeboy sounds rite about the water jacket. So check it out.

yeah, 2 very well chosen words rudeboy!
search for the how to and results, bascially if they are more than 10 apart from each other then it's bad, you'll have like 168, 160 145, 171, like that.
