Hey everyone i just got a 89 240sx with the sohc engine, the car has a lot of miles but is in good cond. The former owner thinks the car has a burnt valve, but before tearing it down i want to know if there could be another prob. It runs smooth over 4k but anything under that it runs very rough and barely holds a idle, ive checked injectors, dist cap, wires are good, plugs, and tried to check the codes but could only get the green light to flash 5 times..If anyone has any idea on fixing it i would appreciate it

 

are there any abnormal sounds or smell coming from the car?

 

No car sounds fine.,..

 

i'd start by adjusting the idle air valve and see what that will do also spaying some tb cleaner into the tb and some on the maf. if this dosen't make things any better check your timing and compression.
