no power after changing battery terminals

I changed the battery terminals and everything was fine, headlights and all.. but once i tried to start up the engine all the power got cut off.. I still have the accessory power but if i turn the key to the ON position all the power is off... and can't even turn the headlights on anymore..the dashboard lights are on sometimes but really dim... any idea on what happened?

make sure that all your connections are tight.

maybe you shorted something or blew a fuse.

sounds like what happens when you don`t have the clutch in all the way...

not much help but, i`ve had friends with a clutch wire that was faulty or shredded who couldn`t start their cars.

you have a ground wire loose some were.
check all ground wires on the intake, on the motor and the body

ALSO THIS MITE BE A STUPID QUESTION BUT ARE YOU SURE YOU DIDNT PUT THE TERMINALS ON BACKWARDS LIKE + TO - AND - TO +. JUST ASKING??????

Your ignition relay can be blown depending on what terminal you hooked up first.
Ground is the first to get disconected, and the last to go on the battery......

if you accidentally mismatched the terminals then you might want to check your alternator fuse or fuses under the hood?

I still say that you have a bad ground somewhere.
